I completed book two during my Spring break and after editing it myself three times, I sent it out for reader feedback. Several avid readers and authors provided feedback to me and I made some content and grammar changes. My writer's group also provided quality feedback, even while I wrote my book. I only wished I had such inclusion during the writing process of book one. I really was green and didn't understand all the elements of a story, character development, plot holes etc. I just wrote the story inside my head.
Months laters, I found an excellent editor and sent a few chapters for a sample edit. Blown away is all I can say about my reaction to her work. I'm very hopeful that my book 2 gets picked up by a literary agent and my message is spread world-wide to kids everywhere. Mental illness is not something someone hopes for, but many with it hope for the best and live their lives excellently. Others not so much, which is why I created a podcast. Next post will delve into the lives of people around the world, dealing with mental illness.
