I finished the second book in my series, which will bring an emotional response from my readers. When life meets reality or visa versa, it hits hard.
Joshua Creed, my main character's foibles are modeled after the trials and tribulations of my own son. He has suffered a great deal in the process of living with bipolar disorder. Yes, he too struggled with my divorce from his father and it was a long battle through several therapy sessions and intense family moments. Tears, shouting, slamming doors and other such nuances filled our days and nights. I know we aren't alone and so many other kids face these issues as well.
Life in the classroom for the past 14 years has afforded me the opportunity to realize the necessity of an outlet for some kids, reluctant to find books that fit their lives and therefore are hesitant to read. My books are intentionally written, not only as an outlet for me and what I witnessed my son go through, but an attempt to help others find a voice through relatable characters.
I hope you enjoy reading my first book and like me, excited about book 2! (Editing....)
